Need help?

Course overview

This legal patent searching course provides methodology for patentability, opposition, invalidity and freedom to operate tasks, for successful IP practice.

Legal patent searching is a crucial step in the patenting process. It helps businesses make informed decisions to ensure their inventions are novel and eligible for patent protection. By using the searching methods to their full potential, a business can avoid infringement on existing patents and potential legal issues, and make strategic decisions about the best way forward.

The first half of this course focuses on aspects of search theory, the patenting process and patent information theory. This knowledge forms the basis for your search and patent analysis.

The second half of the course provides strategies for executing each type of search and gives guidelines on how to report your results for each type.

The expert trainer will give you insights into when and how to undertake the patent searches and how they can build into successful portfolio management. There will be ample time for you to ask your particular questions and gain insights from the trainer’s expert knowledge.

This course is part of our collection of IP & Patents Training Courses.
